The Roadmap to the Outdoors Initiative is working in partnership with the Oregon Outdoor Recreation Initiative to lead the Diversity of Participants Impact Area

Oregon inspires, engages and provides outdoor recreation experiences for all people, ensuring that outdoor recreation is accessible for all demographics, from backyard to backcountry. Institutions, organizations and individuals partner to support diversity in the outdoors, starting with an educational system that engages youth in outdoor education, providing every child with skills and experiences that will last a lifetime, and continuing with intergenerational learning opportunities so that it’s never too late to start. Information about outdoor recreation opportunities is provided in multiple languages and experiences themselves are accessible to people of all income and ability levels. Oregon derives its comparative advantage, in part, by the volume of diverse users that span a wide range of ability levels, ages, cultures, activity types and economic well-being.
